Nanoha Movie 1st this Winter 2009.
Posted by BlankVoid | Filed under Anime
Well, crap, I’m a bit late. It was really announced a day or so ago but I was too occupied with trying to beat a friend in a leveling competition on WoW. lol.
Anyway, apparently, there will be a new movie for the series Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. For those who don’t already know, it’s about the adventures of an ordinary elementary school girl who accidentally gained magical powers and uses it to…save the world…and other dimensions?
ANN:
The 100th issue (on sale on July 30) of Gakken’s Magami Magazine will announce that a Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha film, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st, will open in Japan this winter. The movie will retell the first story of Nanoha Takamachi, an ordinary third-grade girl who becomes a magical girl in search of Jewel Seeds from another world, and Fate Testarossa, another magical girl competing for the Jewel Seeds. Franchise creator Masaki Tsuzuki emphasized that the movie is not necessarily the “true history” of the story, but a “new parallel history.”
It seems that the movie will be out sometime January to March of 2009. It’s back to the first series where Nanoha fights Fate for the Jewel Seeds…blahblahblah. Am I the only person who liked them better in StrikerS? It’s not really word-for-word the entire first series again…but like ANN said, it’s a “new parallel history”…go figure. Me likes when Nanoha and Fate weren’t fighting each other. :< It seems Fate also got a new looking Bardiche. In addition, it's also been said that it might have a female voice this time too. o_O
And then there's a Drama CD of StrikerS three years into the future without Nanoha, Fate, or Hayate. Imo, that's all the important people. It seems a lot of the kids grew up a bit.

Ok, I’m back again.

Anyway, I have been surviving my second month without World of Warcraft. I thought it wasn’t possible at first, but I am actually doing well without it.
I also decided to do a little more video editting recently. I decided to go and try out subbing. The end product wasn’t bad, I guess.
On the other hand, I did learn a bit more about timing, typesetting, and encoding so that was a neat trade off.

As the above video might suggest, I started watching Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Well, at this time, I’ve watched Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A’s and Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS. I didn’t know there was a prerequisite to the two so you bet I was kinda confused at the beginning of A’s.
Overall good anime. At first, I was going to avoid watching this because it’s about…Magical girls…lawl? Sure it’s got transformation scenes like Sailor Moon, but it doesn’t take two whole minutes on them and it doesn’t show it every single fucking episode.

I also started playing Falcom’s Ys Origin. I mean, it’s been out for almost two years. I don’t know why I haven’t played it yet. I managed to play Yunica’s storyline in Hard mode. That was a bitch. Then I played Hugo’s storyline in Hard. Holy crap was it easy. Now I’m playing Thor’s in Hard. Pretty cool game; but in my opinion, if I can beat it, then it isn’t hard. Lol.
Anyway, I’m working on a trainer for it. I’m planning on incorporating +999999 STR, +999999 DEF, +999999 MP Speed, and +999999 hit (which is x10000 exp rate).

Ranked Anime

The top five anime on my list as of January 27, 2008.
Note: Anime’s enclosed in []’s are licensed and the titles are what the dubbers gave it.
![]() Kimi ga Nozomu Eien # 1 |
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is a romance/drama anime that revolves around a triangle. It features the protagonist, Narumi Takayuki, who enjoys his simple, carefree life where nothing can go wrong. However, he is eventually confronted by Suzumiya Haruka, a girl who had had feelings for him for a few years. Takayuki takes this waveringly but develops deep feelings for Haruka soon after as well. Unbeknownst to the young couple that their bond would soon be tested. A traffic accident causes Haruka to go into a coma and leaves Takayuki in a state of shock. Hayase Mitsuki, who is Haruka’s best friend tries to cheer Takayuki and help him through life. After all, she had also loved Takayuki. It is three years later, Takayuki has moved on and has been with Mitsuki since then…when Haruka awakens. What seems to be a cliché drama is actually one of the most depressing and well-developed anime of all time. In its time, it was considered to be the most tragic only second to the questionable Saikano (which I’ve never seen). I’d say KgNE would most likely appeal to most rather than Saikano probably because I enjoy something that I can actually relate to rather than some robot show. |
![]() Chrno Crusade # 2 |
Another great title is Chrno Crusade. An anime about a demon-exorcising nun! Rosette Christopher is a sister who had joined the leagues of the church to battle and subdue minions of the dark. She is backed up by an unlikely partner, Chrno, a demon. The both had performed a Contract, which would bond human and demons together…with a price. During childhood, Rosette and her brother Joshua had been left in an orphanage where Joshua was debilitated. He had a gift. He was able to heal, yet he suffered from a never-ending illness that ailed him. Rosette, on the other hand, was a brash tomboy who tried to take care of Joshua as best she could. They eventually stumbled upon a dungeon where they encountered a coffin. Rosette awakens Chrno and Joshua is kidnapped soon after. Rosette is asked to make a Contract with Chrno where he could feed off her lifeforce and use his demonic powers to help find Joshua again. Yet another unusual cliché some might say. Also, like KgNE, I hate to spoil it, but the ending isn’t happy. That’s what makes this anime a bit more unique and well…better. The manga counterpart, however, has a somewhat happier ending, I suppose. All around fantastic anime, definitely better than many there are nowadays. Tragic anime FTW! |
![]() Shingetsutan Tsukihime # 3 |
In terms of suspense, this anime might beat all else. Shigetsutan Tsukihime is a story about a high school student, Tohno Shiki, who leads a pretty typical life. Except for one thing. He has the ability to see the “lines of death”. Meaning, he could literally see lines running through anything and everything. Should he feel the urge to, he could cut steel easily by tracing a blade through the lines. His power is backed up by several drawbacks. He has chronic anemia and a severe migraine should he perceive “death”. Another negative effect causes Shiki to lose total control of himself and kill anything that is inhumane. Shiki finds himself stalking a blonde stranger and slicing her into seventeen pieces. Gaining consciousness, he is later scorned by the stranger who he had killed. The person he had killed was a vampire of the Royal blood. Great anime, in terms of everything. Though the anime has left out a great deal of information, it still delivers the great action-packed thriller that it is. For those who have seen Fate/stay Night, this anime/h-game came from the same creator: Type-Moon. However, I’d say this one is MANY times more enjoyable as I have played both games. In my opinion, this has many more twists and turns than any other anime out there. And if the anime creators could’ve stuck in Kohaku’s arc, then this anime would easily be one of the best out there. |
![]() Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (Kai) # 4 |
[When they Cry] Higurashi no Naku Koro ni takes place in Hinamizawa, a calm, peaceful village. It inhabits two thousand people. Every year there would be a festival — the Watanagashi Festival. This festival entails of several ceremonies and a celebration in honor of the Shrine God or “Oyashiro-sama”. However, lately, there had been myseterious deaths accompanied by the disappearance several individuals as well, hence nicknaming it the Shrine God’s curse or “Oyashiro-sama no Tatari”. Maebara Keiichi recently moves to Hinamizawa as a result of a new job his father gets (and personal reasons). He soon finds himself in the midst of abstruse deaths and even more enigmatic disappearances. On top of all that, there has been an epidemic going around… As of 1983 the population is two thousand and soon — zero. I had a hard time deciding where to put this. I rank my anime on how captivating they are; in other words, if they make me extremely happy, unusually morose, or immensely timorous, then, they are indeed well made. I wouldn’t say any anime is “scary”, and Higurashi isn’t scary. It is, nonetheless, disturbing. Less violence and bloody moments than Elfen Lied, but much more realistic than EL. However, the answer arcs, or the sequel to season one (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai), pretty much upsets the more realistic aspects of the story. Yet, it is still a powerful story even if it was based on an amateur mystery novel. |
![]() D. Gray-Man # 5 |
Another anime touching upon the subject of exorcism, D. Gray-Man, is about Allen Walker, who has been gifted with “Innocence” which lends him extraordinary powers. With it, he is able to transform his arm into a huge claw, a gun, or a sword. Uniquely to Allen, he is able to perceive the souls of the dearly departed. He lives in a world where there is a never-ending war between men and the Millenium Earl, who conjures up “Akuma”’s. Akuma’s are monstrosities that originate from the misery of humans following the death of their loved ones. Using this as his main weapon of assault on humanity, the Millenium Earl hopes to end the world or humanity for that matter. This anime hasn’t even ended yet. I, initially, liked the idea since it was almost five years since I watched Chrno Crusade, but this is one of those anime that takes way too long to end. It is accompanied by many, many fillers that sometimes are interesting and humorous…but it gets dull after awhile. One of the main reasons I will continue to watch it is for the awesome opening and ending themes. |
